Everyone can agree that email has revolutionized the way we communicate. It may be bringing us down though because it lacks manners and emotion. By next year emails emails are expected to exceed 36 billion per day. According to a survey done there are seven email sins. One, ignoring an email. Two, denying the email all together like it never even came. Three, the opposite of two presuming an email has already been seen. Four, sending pages of email when only a few lines were necessary. Five, forwarding emails to everyone people who don't even need it or want it. Six, bad grammar. Seven, tactlessness or getting the tone wrong. Survey done by palmOne a new smart phone company.
Email has no rules written in stone like writing does but we need to start thinking of some. We are only recently figuring out that people need manners when emailing. It is important to remember that email can't replace a phone call. You shouldn't send an email when tired or angry. Never fire or break up with someone through email. Don't pass on rumours or innuendo about people. If you would not tell someone something to their face then don't tell them through email.
