I'm not sure if you are actually reading this, but I'm sorry that I had to miss the last three classes. I can only say that I will not miss anymore classes and keep up with my work. My girlfriend usually gives me rides to school in the morning but we broke up the week before springbreak. I know I should of found a new way to get to work but I was hurt and sad and upset and connfused. I think I'll be able to get to school from now on and I want to do good in your class and the rest of my classes.

blog 8

This article was about how Facebook is being used by prisoners to harass people. Jimmy Mizen is a 16-year-old who was murdered harassed Jimmy’s father through the social networking site. Victims like Jimmy’s father and countless other are harassed daily. Facebook and other similar sites are not permitted in prison but many prisoners find ways to get around and use the sites. Some of the ways include using smuggled in phones or having their family members make updates for them. Facebook relies on user-based reports to help maintain the safety of its site.

Charles Mustoe was a 17-year-old high school student from Canada. He targeted three other high school students who he planned on shooting at their school. He talked about the details of his plan to a 14-year-old girl through the social networking site, Facebook. Her father found out about the discussions and reported it to the police. Mustoe was arrested and taken to Okanogan Juvenile Detention Center where he was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Assault. The girl was not charged with anything.

Facebook was created by Mark Zuckerberg, a Harvard sophomore, in 2004 intended for the students. It spread rapidly to more than 200 million active users worldwide. Facebook does not have all the clutter like the other social networking sites which cuts down on spam. Since 2004 Facebook has raised $600 million. Three other Harvard students say that Mr. Zucerberg was merely hired to write code for the site. They say he stole the idea from them and there is now a law suite pending. After making some changes to the site a wave of protest made Facebook withdraw all changes.

blog 7

So we did our presentation on the Wii Fit. First Kristina handed out the magazine add. Then we acted out the commercial. It went pretty well I kinda forgot one of my lines but I just improvised. The other people in my team were kinda of weak and needed the script in their hand. I would say Taylor Kristina and I were the stars of the commercial.

I don't know how the class felt about the commercial. They clapped but they are kind of hard to read, hard crowd. The class had a few good questions about the Wii Fit. Overall I think we answered most of the questions they had. We gave alot of good informaion about our product.

Our magazine add was visually pleasing and had a catchy sloagin to sell our product. The commercial went off almost perfect. And overall I think my team worked together to pull of this assignment. Tha t is my evaluation of the advertisement and commercial assignment.

blog 6

My role in the team assignment of the Wii FIt commercial is to reaserch the Wii. We have to make a commercial on a gaming system for health. There are not many gaming systems for health ouit there and I think that the Wii Fit is by far the best. We also have to make a magazine advertisement about the Wii. I need to now what the Wii Fit game actually is and how it works.

I am going to have to be able to answer questions in front of the class about the Wii. I also have to give input to the rest of my team members so we can make a good commercial. My other team members are reasponsible for the magazine add, the commercial script, and getting research about studies done on the Wii Fit. We are going to hand out the magazine add then do the commercial. The commercial has to be about a minute or two and after the commercial we will answer questions. And that is our assignment and my part in it.

blog 5

The Wii fit is the newest and coolest way to get in shape. Bad grammar, spreading rumours, email breakups, firing someone via email, and tons more etiquette rules we are supposed to follow. There is this big thing about nobody having email etiquette because they don't know what it is. But are they not the same etiquette rules that apply to everything else. I think maybe this generation is just not growing up with the same basic morals and ethics that this country was based on. If your not polite in person then how are you going to be polite on the web.

I think if people would just realize that an email and a text message are getting to the point where they are personal. We need to stop and think before we send any text or email. Try to avoid messaging before you think. Know your audience the person your messaging and how you can talk to them. You don't want to use abbreviations or bad grammar when emailing an employer. Remember your manners and realize emails can be personable.

blog2

Everyone can agree that email has revolutionized the way we communicate. It may be bringing us down though because it lacks manners and emotion. By next year emails emails are expected to exceed 36 billion per day. According to a survey done there are seven email sins. One, ignoring an email. Two, denying the email all together like it never even came. Three, the opposite of two presuming an email has already been seen. Four, sending pages of email when only a few lines were necessary. Five, forwarding emails to everyone people who don't even need it or want it. Six, bad grammar. Seven, tactlessness or getting the tone wrong. Survey done by palmOne a new smart phone company.

Email has no rules written in stone like writing does but we need to start thinking of some. We are only recently figuring out that people need manners when emailing. It is important to remember that email can't replace a phone call. You shouldn't send an email when tired or angry. Never fire or break up with someone through email. Don't pass on rumours or innuendo about people. If you would not tell someone something to their face then don't tell them through email.

blog 1

When is it and when is it not Ok to use your phone?
